In early 1983 bombs went off at the New and Old Supreme Courts, and at the former Native High Court and Sobantu offices of the Drakensberg Administration Board, in Pietermaritzburg.
A year later at the College Road Supreme Court Sithabiso Mahlobo, Ben Dikobe Martins and Duma Gqubule appeared on charges of high treason, terrorism, ANC activity, causing explosions and possession of arms and ammunition (
